Today morning when I logged in to twitter it started showing me this alert which say “New ! Retweet to share tweets”
Day before yesterday on techgearz we have mentioned that [reffer this] twitter will be under going a maintenance fix and their is a possibility of rolling out retweet feature. This was a perfect guess and yes now retweet feature is available on twitter officially, though its a beta stage now.
Since it say its a beta version and available to few selected people only. We really don’t know what is twitter criteria of selective people, but for those who don’t have this feature enabled yet they will see the retweets from their friend with a ” RT ” in the tweet and the people for whom it is enabled will see the Retweets with as in the bellow image. If the original owner of the tweet is not in your friend list then it will show a magic box which says “Wondering who is this?”
You will find this Retweet link next to Reply link in all your tweets, when you retweet a tweet your followers will see those tweets. This will also help your followers to follow the original tweeple if like to do so. See image for a red box ><
This Retweet feature does not allow you to edit / add any comments on any tweet before retweeting it, for that u will have to follow the traditional retweet method [Ctrl + C; Ctrl + V + edit it ]
Twitter also allow you monitor all the recent retweets along with the user details and you can also retweet it. You can also manage your retweets and your tweet which are retweeted by your friends / follower. Owner of the tweet will be person who tweeted it first. [check below image, how it looks like.]
I have noticed on twitter that many people didn’t like retweet, probably they where expecting something better and also it doesn’t allow you to edit / add comment in any tweet before retweeting like you can do on other twitter apps.
But yes it will allow you to keep a track on retweets made by you and who all have retweeted your tweets and this was something that i like about retweet. Do let us know your comment on this new twitter feature on techgearz. Post in your comments.
