IBM Lotus Software group is going web 2.0 with all its latest 8.5 release. Couple of months back we saw about IBM’s Lotus web 2.0 cloud based mail system iNotes 8.5 and  Lotus Domino application designer 8.5 with cool web 2.0 features also powered by eclipse and Dojo Ajax Framework. Now its time for Lotus Sametime to go web 2.0.

[blippr]Lotus Sametime is one of the oldest and most popular, secure corporate chat client. Till date Same time was available only as a desktop based chat client like Yahoo Messenger, with Lotus Sametime 8.5 now its also available on web. Sametime is popularly know for it easy integration with Lotus Notes mail client and many cool features like storing chat history, start chatting from people in your email thread (which you also have in gmail now)  and group chat features for years now. There are many more cool features which we dont have in today’s public chat clients like yahoo messenger and gtalk.

Lotus Sametime 8.5 also comes as a part of  IBM’s Cloud based SaaS offering called LotusLive. LotusLive includes cool tools like iNotes, Sametime and may more.
