Wordpress has released the new version 2.9 which is named “Carmen” in honor of magical jazz vocalist Carmen McRae. We have seen in past few months wordpress coming up with new patches, i could see it in my WP editor box 2.8.4.. so on. Today suddenly notices its now 2.9 so just checked with wordpress.org.

- Improved SEO features inbuilt.
- For post now you also have a image section to put the main / basic image for you post. this will be helpful for magazine related themes.
- Easy video embedding, now you can paste the video url from YouTube / WordPress TV to your post, video will appear automatically while rendering post.
- Inbuilt image editor, no you can corp, rotate re-size the images you are uploading into your media library and use it according to your need.
- Automatic database recovery.
- Move your post and comments to Trash, now you dont have to worry about the post /comments which are accidentally deleted by you. Now you wont delete and post, instead trash the unnecessary post and restore it if you feel like. Post will appear in trash section for next 30 days.
- Upgrade all your plug-ins at sametime.
